Join host Councilman Curren Price and tens of thousands of friends and neighbors as we ignite LA’s skyline and launch a pyrotechnic celebration on Wednesday\, July 4. \nIn preparation of the local Independence Day celebration\, here are some pointers to help you make the most of your experience: \n1. Parking is LIMITED and public transportation is strongly recommended. Use the Metro Expo Line to the Expo Park/USC Station. More information at www.metro.net/riding/trip-planner \n2. Early arrival is suggested. There will be live music\, food and family-friendly activities beginning at 11 a.m. so make sure to make the most of your day. \n3. Don’t forget to pack a blanket and sweater for the evening. Remember\, the fireworks extravaganza will come to life at dusk\, around 9 p.m.\, so you’ll want to be cozy when the main attraction begins.

DESCRIPTION:Please join Assemblymember Gipson on this Call to Action on Gun Violence. \nAlthough officials are reporting crime is decreasing in the LA area. Gun violence is very much real in our District and State of California. \nJoin Assemblymember Gipson\, clergy members \, community members\, gun control advocates for a call to action to end gun violence in our communities. \nAdditionally\, we will be displaying shoes on the street that represent the lives lost due to gun violence. If you would like to partake we encourage you to come and bring a pair of shoes. \nAssemblymember Gipson has been working on robust legislation to help address gun violence. \nThanks to your help AB 7 was signed into law\, closing a loophole that would allow for open carry in areas of our district. \nAB 2382 would implement background checks on individuals purchasing parts to assemble a gun\, and we hope to have your full support in urging the governor sign the bill into law.
