SUMMARY:DWP Equity Metrics Update
DESCRIPTION:Updates to the Equity Metrics Data Initiative (EMDI) are provided to the Board of Water and Power Commissioners twice a year\, in February and August. Since there was not a second Board meeting in August\, the next update is scheduled for the Board of Water and Power Commissioners Meeting on Wednesday\, September 5. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. We invite all interested customers\, Neighborhood Council members and other stakeholders to review the LADWP Rates and Equity Metrics Semi-Annual Report to learn more about this important data-driven initiative that tracks and reports how LADWP fulfills its mission across the entire City. \nLADWP Corporate Performance staff will continue to provide updates on EMDI to the Board in February and August of each year. If you are interested in following the progress of this initiative we encourage you to monitor or attend these meetings. Board agendas can be viewed online at www.ladwp.com/board and reports and other information about EMDI can be found online at http://www.ladwp.com/equitymetrics. Thank you for tracking the progress of this important initiative. We look forward to your continued interest. \nWhat is the Equity Metrics Data Initiative? \nAs part of the LADWP Rate Action approved in 2016\, and subsequently reviewed and approved by the Board\, LADWP established the Equity Metrics Data Initiative (EMDI) to track\, measure and report on how LADWP programs are provided to all LADWP customers and residents of Los Angeles. The EMDI establishes a framework that helps ensure that we provide fair and reasonable services to all ratepayers. Stakeholder outreach and participation have been an important part of this initiative to ensure equity for our customers. \nWe encourage you to share this invitation with any individuals\, organizations or other stakeholders who you feel may be interested in learning more about this first of its kind initiative in the City of LA. \nFor more information\, please visit: www.ladwp.com/equitymetrics.

SUMMARY:Charge Up LA!
DESCRIPTION:Charge Up LA! features opportunities to test drive new EVs and get info about incentive programs to make them more affordable \nLos Angeles – The public will be able to test drive the hottest new electric vehicles (EVs) on the road at the eighth annual Los Angeles National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) Ride-n-Drive event\, Charge Up LA! being held at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s historic John Ferraro Building\, 111 N. Hope Street in Downtown Los Angeles on Sat.\, Sep. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. \nRepresentatives from lead sponsor Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) along with EV advocacy organizations are hosting Charge Up LA! to promote awareness of EVs\, plug-in hybrid-electric cars\, and motorcycles\, as well as the benefits they provide. \n“Charge Up LA! is a fun opportunity for Angelenos to experience the clean\, quiet ride of many different electric vehicles and to learn about incentive programs that can help make them affordable to purchase and own\,” said LADWP General Manager David Wright. \nThese programs include the EV Charger Rebate that reimburses up to $500 for residential charger installation and up to $5\,000 for commercial chargers\, and the new Used EV Rebate Program which can knock $450 off the price of a used EV. \n“Los Angeles’ National Drive Electric Week event\, Charge Up LA!\, is a signature event activity in this year’s nationwide celebration of the availability and benefits of electric cars\,” said Plug In America’s Joel Levin. “With nearly 200\,000 EVs sold in the U.S. last year\, events like this are more important than ever to raise awareness that EVs are easier to maintain\, cheaper to fuel and great to drive\, no matter what the brand. Consumers are responding to the innovation we’re seeing in the EV market.” \nIn Los Angeles\, EVs also have local significance said City of Los Angeles Chief Sustainability Officer Lauren Faber O’Connor. “Cities are leading the EV transition and through Mayor Garcetti’s Sustainable City pLAn and LADWP we are helping anyone who wants to go electric get there. Electrifying transportation is a key step to meeting the Mayor’s climate goals while making our air cleaner and our economy stronger.” \nLADWP’s goal is to have 10\,000 chargers in the City of LA by 2022. To support this goal\, LADWP has already supported the installation of hundreds of publicly accessible chargers at various locations throughout the City. \nThe event will feature \nOpening Ceremonies\nVehicle Test Drives and Displays: Audi A3 e-Tron; BMW i8\, i3\, 330e\, 530e and Motorrad C-Evolution electric scooter; Chrysler Pacifica; Honda Clarity; Mini Cooper Countryman; Nissan LEAF; Toyota Prius Prime\nThe latest on charging station options\, EV federal and state incentives and solar power from more than a dozen exhibitors\nAn EV Tailgate Community featuring dozens of EV owners\nFood Trucks \nwww.ladwp.com/EV
