DESCRIPTION:The Office of Public Accountability Ratepayer Advocate Listening Sessions\nThe Office of Public Accountability (OPA) / Ratepayer Advocate is an independent office that seeks to improve the performance of LADWP on behalf of ratepayers. The OPA will be hosting upcoming community meetings led by Tim O’Connor\, the City’s Ratepayer Advocate. These listening sessions are intended to raise awareness about OPA’s role in ensuring fair and equitable LADWP rates\, as well as available discount and assistance programs for customers. \nTo make these meetings open and accessible to all\, bilingual materials in Spanish and live translation will be provided. Community members may RSVP using the online registration forms available in both English and Spanish. DESCRIPTION:Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas\, Pastor J. Edgar Boyd of First AME Church and Rabbi Zoë Klein Miles of Temple Isaiah will host an evening of interfaith solidarity and worship to show unity in the wake of the Tree of Life tragedy in Pittsburgh. \nDoors open at 5:30 p.m. Service begins at 6:00 p.m. \nAll are welcome. \nFree parking available. \nPastor J. Edgar Boyd\, Senior Minister\, First AME Church \nReverend J. Edgar Boyd is the Pastor of the 142-year-old First African Methodist Episcopal Church of Los Angeles (FAME)\, the oldest African American church in the city. Assigned to the church in 2012\, Pastor Boyd leads a congregation of thousands and emphasizes Biblically-based spiritual practices\, stewardship\, congregational involvement\, appropriate record-keeping\, fiscal controls and accountability and transparency in operating procedures. \nRabbi Zoë Klein Miles\, Senior Rabbi\, Temple Isaiah \nRabbi Zoë Klein Miles is the Senior Rabbi of Temple Isaiah and has served this congregation since 2000. Rabbi Klein gives numerous presentations and is a keynote speaker or panel participant at various assemblies all over the country. She is a resource for reporters in regional newspapers and has appeared as a commentator on the History Channel in “Digging for the Truth.”
