DESCRIPTION:Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas is hosting the 2nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Event – in partnership with LA County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell\, Assemblymember Sade Elhawary\, LAUSD\, and UMMA Health – on Sunday\, September 28 from Noon – 4 pm. We are hosting the event at Mary McLeod Bethune Middle School\, 155 W 69th St in South Los Angeles. \nThis community event will honor the rich cultural contributions of Hispanic\, Latinx\, Indigenous\, and Afro-Latinx communities through vibrant music\, dance\, and art. We’ll also have: \nLive performances from local artists\nFree food for attendees\nHealth screenings & wellness resources\nInformation booths from community organizations\nGiveaways\, and more! \nTo ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all\, especially our immigrant and mixed-status families\, we are implementing comprehensive security measures in coordination with trusted community partners.
