The Budget Advocates are comprised of representatives from Neighborhood Councils across the city. Carol Derby-David is our representative from Park Mesa Heights Community Council.
The Advocates have issued their annual white paper with comments and recommendations on the city budget for the next fiscal year starting July 2020. In this document they particularly call into question the budget deficit attributed to salary increases emanating from labor agreements negotiated behind closed doors and not planned for in the adopted budget. There will be a resulting decrease in level of services to Angelenos. The advocates call for changes to increase transparency in the budget process.
