Jim Mcbeth square signFrom Councilmember Marqueece Haris Dawson June 4, 2026:

We permanently etched a legendary name into the fabric of South Central by dedicating James “Jim” McBeth Square at 54th & Crenshaw.

Mr. McBeth didn’t just invest in property—he invested in the permanence of Black-owned businesses. Today, his daughters Alison and Ashley are keeping that incredible legacy alive.
When we say we are anchoring Black heritage on the Corridor, we are talking about giants like Jim McBeth.  And now, future generations will know this.

Alison McBeth-Featherstone is Vice President of Park Mesa Heights Community Council.

“We are delighted to have Jim McBeth be remembered for his years of service to businesses in our community,” shares KimMarie Johnson-Rousell, Park Mesa Heights Community Council Member.
