Urbanize Los Angeles reported on February 27, 2019 that a quarter acre site located at 6521-6523 Brynhurst Ave in Hyde Park could be redeveloped. The site current holds six residential units, single story dating to 1910-1920. The proposal is to replace them with five stories of 41 apartments with one level of parking at street level. As the site is near the Crenshaw line, the developer proposes to offer five units as extremely low income units in exchange for building height.
North of the site is a two story apartment building. One block north is a five or six story building, built early in 2018. The Fairview Heights Station will be located about two blocks south of this proposed development.
