Danielle Howard Teacher Appreciation Week

In honor of National Teacher Day and Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to spotlight some exemplary educators who live in CD8.
Danielle Howard has spent the last 24 years teaching at South LA Schools. She teaches all subjects to 4th and 5th graders at Dr. Owen L. Knox Elementary. We appreciate your work in educating our youth!
Dr. Liz Gant-Britton is a professor, author, public speaker, and media commentator. Dr. Gant-Britto has taught American and African American Literature and History at local Community Colleges and UCLA. She has authored two books, “Holt African American History” and the second version of the award-winning “African American History: Heroes in Hardship.” She previously served as the Student Affairs Officer of UCLA’s Afro-American Studies Program. Dr. Gant-Britton currently teaches African American Studies at California State University, Northridge. Thank you for highlighting our history!
Angelica Huezo has taught physical education to 6th and 7th graders at the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (LACES) for 14 years. Thank you for being so dedicated to the health of students!
