The Park Mesa Heights Community Council stocked 1,000 starter backpacks as go bags with an emergency blanket, glow sticks, hygiene supplies and information about emergency readiness and Park Mesa Heights Community Council. We initially gave away about 200 at a drive by event on June 8, 2020 in partnership with My Friends House and CD 8.

We recently worked to help the community prepare by distributing another 500 through Crenshaw High School, 200 through Project 43, and the rest through our local elementary schools and at the Curve Senior Living during Labor Day Weekend.

We are proud to encourage our residents to be emergency ready. If you would like to take the next step and assemble your Go Bag, please see https://www.mysafela.org/what-to-keep-under-your-bed/
