Blue Ribbon Panel Reports on School Safety Findings

The PMHCC Education Committee reports on student concerns about student searches:

• Unnecessarily distracting from learning
• Not random
• Not effective

City Attorney Mike Feuer reports August 2018 that a multi disciplined Blue Ribbon Panel on school safety completed a comprehensive review of the issues and presented recommendations about how to increase school safety.

Comprehensive recommendations included tackling access to guns and access to mental health resources; how schools are designed and how threats are reported; conditions on campus and in surrounding neighborhoods.
