Victoria Ave Park

Park Mesa Heights Community Council celebrated the opening of the new South Victoria Avenue Park Saturday, September 7, 2019.

Councilmember Harris-Dawson reports, “South Victoria Avenue Park is a beautiful example of what we can create by working together. We transformed a nuisance property at 6537 S Victoria Ave into a vibrant playground and gathering space for the children and families of Hyde Park. We helped The Trust for Public Land gather community input and provide much needed green space to over 10,000 people who live within a 10-minute walk of the park.”

“The grand opening of Victoria Park was a success. Although there many things that need to be addressed in our community, having green and free space is very important. Our community members need space to exercise and gather. Green space is vital to creating and sustaining healthy communities and neighborhoods. It was a pleasure to speak on behalf of the council. And I look forward to utilizing the park myself.” Julia Smith.
