The groundbreaking ceremony for the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza was held March 5, 2026.
The groundbreaking means the end of the Sears store and nearby parking lot. In its place there will be 92 homes built as part of phase one. The project is 42 acres and ultimately wil add 900 apartments and condos, a 400 room hotel, an office tower,300,000 square feet of retail space and nearly 150,000 of office space.
