If you have lost income due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible to receive a one-time, $500 check to help pay utility bills. Funding is limited. Online Applications accepted from November 2 through November 22, 2020.

Panelists praised Councilmember Dawson for his efforts to fight Homelessness. I spoke to several professionals who work closely with the homeless population, and they all said they were satisfied with Dawson's efforts and response to homelessness. They also shared that the homelessness delivery system is overwhelmed.

Fox 11 reported October 14, 2020 that the Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to created unarmed response teams for nonviolent calls. Their next step is to issue a request for proposal to find a non-profit partner to implement this concept.
